Erik M. Reinert, born 1967, is a danish based, expressive painter.
He works with the relationship between nature and culture in his art.
He was represented at KE19
There is an element of suspense and action in his art. The paintings suggest a story or narrative. We sense his enthusiasm for light and movement.
Basically, I paint my relationship with nature and culture, my love of energy by virtue of light, color and movement.
At best the paintings should speak for themselves. However I also enjoy the dialog with the viewer.
I accept that nature is bigger than little me, the paintings are up to the viewer to think or experience a story or narrative.
I enjoy the colors where I live, on the beach, in the garden and the forest. Often there can be some fun dynamics between different actors in the paintings.
Currently I work with plastic, and the colors plastic reflect, as a comment and as a counterpoint to nature. Specifically, it’s a yellow raincoat.
I hope my enthusiasm for the light and the promise of something further… as movement can do, can become an inspiration and joy.
